Happy Birthday Singapore!

I remembered when I was in Primary School, I always looked forward to festive occasions. One of my favourites was National Day simply because there would be a school holiday. Back then, we would always receive little souvenirs like key chains and bookmarks imprinted with the Singapore's flag. Nowadays, the celebration mode is vastly different. Since when did ACES day become part of the National day celebration? And what a way to end the celebration by having 3 periods of normal lessons in class. Do pupils and teachers have the mood to study and teach in the first place? Personally, I don't.

Anyway, we must really rejoice this significant day for Singapore has come a long way to become what it is today. I guess when you get older, the less excited you are when it comes to such celebrations. Regardless, enjoy every moment of the National Day spirit while it lasts.
